Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors, directors, and directors on both screen and stage throughout all of her career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will become available on Disney DTC's platforms. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton production Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail are at the leading the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceeding in nearly a century. She was in two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No previous to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway appearances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was raised in Denver currently splits her time in between Los Angeles & New York.
